The

reason

behind

“We desire to provide food, clothing and healthcare to those living in poverty. to offer college educations and to train and develop future leaders with the gospel of Jesus to impact the lives of people in northern Uganda and other parts of the world.”

— Ron + Joy Muinde

Meet Ron and Joy

Ron and Joy Muinde met in 1990 at Moffat Bible College in Kenya, Nairobi. They married in 1994. They have three children Esther(96), James(98), and Michelle(01). They served in pastoral ministry in Kenya for 16 years.

In 2008 they received a divine call from God to minister in northern Uganda, a place that had been devastated by war for the past 27 years. When they arrived in Gulu they found many people were living in (IDP) internal displacement camps. They found women that were traumatized and children suffering from family breakdown, lack of education, low poverty level, prostitution/aids, drugs, alcohol and tribal unrest.

They immediately began ministering to these women and children.

Joy began to rescue children as young as eight years old from prostitution, and began to educate them.

Ron began creating house to house fellowships and saw person after person committing their life to Christ.

They soon began a ministry for the Congolese women, which is now serving all tribes in northern Uganda.

In 2012, the teaching ministry of Joy which started under a tree became a formal school(CTCM) which now ministers to approximately 550 children.

But there is still much more kingdom work to be done because many more people still need to be introduced to the love of Jesus.

Before Ron and Joy came to Northern Uganda, they received divine instructions from God to minister to the poor, orphaned, widowed, and less fortunate. In response to this divine instruction from God, they desire to further their opportunities to minister to more people in more communities. This is the reason True Heart International has been established.
